{"id":1026,"date":"2024-02-15T15:31:41","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T14:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arien-euproject.eu\/?p=1026"},"modified":"2026-03-10T15:41:50","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T14:41:50","slug":"the-arien-project-at-the-pen-cp-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arien-euproject.eu\/?p=1026","title":{"rendered":"The ARIEN project at the PEN-CP 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"317\" data-end=\"609\">On <strong data-start=\"320\" data-end=\"340\">12 February 2024<\/strong>, the ARIEN project was presented by the Project Coordinator during an event organised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pen-cp.net\/\"><strong data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"492\">Pan-European Network of Customs Practitioners (PEN-CP)<\/strong><\/a>, an initiative funded under the EU Horizon programme that connects customs and security practitioners across Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"887\">During the session, the coordinator provided an overview of the <strong data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"692\">ARIEN project<\/strong>, its objectives, and its contribution to strengthening the fight against illicit drug production and trafficking through advanced technological solutions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1783\">The presentation a highlighted the <strong data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"1504\">multidisciplinary nature of the ARIEN consortium<\/strong>, including research organisations, universities, SMEs, law enforcement agencies, and judicial authorities working together to address the complex challenges of drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1783\">ARIEN will develop innovative AI-based capabilities, including automated techniques to discover illicit drug markets online, advanced multimedia analysis tools, graph intelligence mechanisms to analyse relationships among criminal actors, and AI models to detect suspicious items in postal deliveries.
