{"id":989,"date":"2025-12-23T14:35:34","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T13:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arien-euproject.eu\/?p=989"},"modified":"2025-12-23T14:42:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T13:42:32","slug":"arien-project-at-the-national-drug-coordinators-meeting-on-ai-and-advanced-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arien-euproject.eu\/?p=989","title":{"rendered":"ARIEN Project at the National Drug Coordinators Meeting on AI and Advanced Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"527\">The <strong data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"264\">ARIEN project<\/strong> took part in the <strong data-start=\"282\" data-end=\"320\">National Drug Coordinators Meeting<\/strong>, held on <strong data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"353\">16\u201317 December 2025<\/strong>, entitled <em data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"468\">\u201cFuture challenges and possibilities: Threats and opportunities of AI and other advanced technologies\u201d<\/em>, through the participation of the <strong data-start=\"503\" data-end=\"526\">project coordinator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"529\" data-end=\"1054\">The meeting brought together national drug coordinators and key European stakeholders to discuss the rapidly evolving landscape of drug trafficking and drug-related crime, and the growing role that <strong data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"791\">Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies<\/strong> are playing in this field. Particular attention was given to how technological innovation can support more effective policy-making, prevention strategies and operational responses, while also addressing the risks and ethical challenges associated with their use.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1394\">Discussions highlighted the dual nature of emerging technologies: on the one hand, their potential to enhance detection capabilities, data analysis, risk assessment and cross-border cooperation; on the other, the need to ensure responsible deployment, transparency and respect for fundamental rights in complex and sensitive policy areas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1842\">Within this context, ARIEN\u2019s participation contributed to the broader European reflection on how <strong data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1524\">technology-driven solutions<\/strong> can support public authorities and law enforcement agencies in addressing increasingly sophisticated criminal networks.
