The Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH), founded in 2000, is one of the largest research centres in Greece and participates in ARIEN through the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) and two of its teams: (i) the Visual Computing Lab (VCL) and (ii) the Multimodal Data Fusion and Analytics (M4D) group of the Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Laboratory (MKLab).
VCL is contributing with AI research in remote sensing imagery, Self-supervised Learning and Active Learning architectures in the context of fighting illicit drug production and trafficking.
M4D/MKLab contributes to the development of AI-based solutions for analysing cryptocurrency data to uncover illicit activities related to drugs trafficking, and for trends analysis in drugs production and trafficking facilitating the early detection of such phenomena.
